Announcements:

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the goodies and gifts that Mrs. DeBerry and I received this past week. It was very thoughtful of all of you.  It was a very busy week last week with a visitor, on Tuesday, from the Francis Land House talk about life of children back in colonial Virginia and, on Thursday, cap and gown pictures taken.  Please remember, by Friday of this week, to give your child a new and clean white T-shirt for Field Day. This week there will be no word study due to PALS testing of our students.  There will be NO word study homework this week. The letter of the week will be O. The STAR words for this week are NINE and TEN.  Last week, we read the books: Our Earth, My “E” Book, and the Poem Umbrellas.  

In Math we will reinforce the skill of writing number sentences. Each day we will be practicing drawing a number story and matching a number sentence that goes with it. Some number stories focus on addition and some on subtraction. We will also do number stories activities in our Math center.   

Reminder:

The weather is changing!!! It is cool one day and warm another day. Be aware of the temperature changes from day to day. Make sure that your child brings a jacket on cool days. For the girls, if they wear dressy shoes with their dresses try to remember to bring sneakers to wear for PE time.
