Happy, happy new year! May 2008 be filled with exciting new learning opportunities; goals we reach; ways we can help others and ourselves; and fun with families and friends! December was a busy and productive month, and I am happy to have gone with Mr. Wolfred, Mrs. Harrell, and our 4th/5th Grades Chorus to the January, too, will be a busy month. The character trait for the month is FAIRNESS, and I look forward to visiting classes to connect that trait with others and have us share ideas for how we can show and use that trait. Reading month also is during January, and again we will have an OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE night here at SES. That will be a very fun and enjoyable time on TUESDAY, JANUARY 15th. Tickets for a full dinner (salad, steak, chicken, baked potato, cookie, and drink) are only $8.00 each. This great night of delicious food and community socializing will greatly benefit our literacy programs here at SES. I am very happy that our hardworking SCA members will be able to help at the OUTBACK dinner. They also will be “Book Hogs,” who will visit classrooms (Wednesdays and Thursdays) to collect gently used children’s books which will be donated to local organizations and non-profit groups. We want others in the community to “pig out” on books like we do at SES; our goal is to donate 1,000 books. We will do it! |
